I am participating in The Ride For Roswell on Saturday, June 22! This is much more than a bike ride for me — it’s my commitment to the fight to end cancer. It's my way to honor and ride with a dear friend and colleague, Barb Hails, who is an ovarian cancer SUSURVIVOR OF 50 YEARS! Always caring, always helpful, always ready to support whomever needs it. She has been riding and raising money in this ride for the past 7 years. I ride to HONOR my FAMILY members who have been dealt the cancer card. They bring the word survivor to a whole new level. Also, it's my way to "high five" those patients that have turned into friends, the ones who come back to visit and update me on their lives.....10 years or more after treating them. They make coming to work meaningful. A purpose fulfilled. I ride because in the 15 years I have been working as a radiation therapist at Roswell Park, I have seen changes that have lead to survival. Changes that mean quality of life. There is still so much work to do. There are still so many people I want to come visit me years after treatment. But we need your help to find ways to help them survive with a good quality of life.
Please help me raise critically needed funds for cutting-edge cancer research and compassionate patient-care programs at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. Your donation to my ride might provide the funding that the researchers at Roswell Park need in order to investigate new treatment options that can save lives. These therapies can provide cutting-edge treatment choices to patients in our own community and in cancer centers worldwide.
You can make a difference in the fight against cancer by supporting my fundraising efforts. In fact, for EVERY DOLLAR DONATED, Roswell Park CAN LEVERAGE AN ADDITIONAL $13 IN NEW GRANT FUNDING!
Please consider making a donation today to help me reach (and exceed) my fundraising goal. Together, we can help find cancer cures and save lives.
